On this first day of fall we ask what is falling away? Is something dying or is there something you’re ready to let go of. Fall can be a time of going inward, of self-reflection, and of renewed pursuit of things that we love. When we let go of something it opens up space for something new.
We picked some leaves off of a bouquet of flowers that a friend gave us and colored over them to create the impressions that we photographed below. May this change of season bring renewed hope even in the face of loss.
Image of several leaves that colored green, yellow, orange, and purple. There is a black background. Colored with Prismacolor Pencils.
This image is of the leaf impressions colored in teal with a blue/purple background. Also colored with Prismacolors.
This is the image that came from pressure used to color the first photo that pressed the color from the second photo onto a blank page. There is a faint background of teal and navy blue with the spaces for the leaves that are almost white.
