Dr. Fletcher "Nancy" Interrupted
We had the opportunity to meet one of the guests from Therapist Interrupted in person for the first time at the Healing Together conference. This is a conference that takes place once a year in Florida and is described by An Infinite Mind as “our one-of-a-kind annual conference for people living with dissociation and DID, their loved ones, and mental health professionals. It is a psychoeducational weekend-long conference of learning and healing while building community.”

I reference my shirt in the podcast interview that aired on February 15 and featured Adrian. Please see below for the show notes and or listen to the episode here:

Dr. Fletcher “Nancy” Interrupted: Season 1, Episode 9
Dr. Adrian Fletcher also known as The Adrienne & Co. system is the founder of Alterchology Speaking and Consulting and has worked in the mental health field for 23 years. In this episode she shares aspects of her personal and professional journey from the impact of being a survivor of trafficking and ritual abuse, to her struggles on the way to licensure, to becoming the proud owner of a private psychology practice specializing in trauma and dissociation. After being let down by the mental health system herself, she decided enough was enough and her soul was no longer living in alignment with western medicine. She is currently a speaker, consultant and author. Her and her parts are on a mission to provide hope, love and inspiration to the global community at large. She/they believe anything is possible and said the following about this interview: One of our favorite conversations to date! Thank you Crystals for holding the space for the beauty and pain that has been not only my journey from survivor to thriver but for specifically asking us to share our experience from going from therapist/owner of a private practice to building Alterchology as a speaker, consultant, author and advocate!!” This interview took place January 14, 2024.
Content Warning:
Some episodes may contain heavier subjects. Please tune into what is best for yourselves and whether or not a specific episode is helpful.
This episode contains references to being a trafficking survivor and ritual abuse and some specifics regarding these experiences. We also talk about failing tests, parental criticism, having a system member integrate, fuse, and die off and the subsequent grief in regards to this. The stigma around DID both from the media and mental health field and the anger that this can cause are tapped into. Burn out, avoiding eating disorders, self harm, and suicidality are is referenced. There’s strong language throughout the episode. The McLean Hospital video that was released in March of 2023 that featured several systems social media videos and became a major event in the plural community is referenced.
